NEED VOICES AGAINST INJUSTICE...........

Let me share with you the most bitter experience of my life till date, which I faced yesterday......

A sudden increase in our hostel fees recently, has led many of the hostelites like me to search for accomodation outside the college. Our search was for a good and secure place to live and that should be affordable. Eventually it seemed that my search has ended when I found a good house for accomodation, though at a slightly higher price, Rs.1700 per month. Everything seemed fine. I and my room-mate promised the landlady to pay the advance, Rs.6800 on the very next day and also let her have a conversation with my mother over phone. As promised, I went to their home next day with the money. But then the actual drama started. The landlord started showing many of their extra expenses and asked for 100 rupees more. As I was not ready for that, he promised to give me back my advance money for rent, if my parents, after meeting them do not find the rent affordable. Meanwhile, on that day, I got to know about another house at a much affordable price, Rs.800 only, and also at a safer place.

Next day of these events, that is yesterday, my parents came and confirmed the second house for accomodation as it was a better option. So, as promised by the first landlord, I went to his home to get my money back. But instead of giving it back, he started abusing me with all sorts of offensive languages. He also denied that he promised to give me back my money if I was not willing to stay their. He insulted me in all possible manners and called me names. Also he insulted me on the name and standard of my college. I was asked to leave their house immediately and come back with my mother to get back the money. After an hour, when I again went there with my mother for the money, we were not allowed inside the house for quite a long time, and were made to stand under the scorching sun. Then the landlord came with another person of his society and asked us to come in. He started narrating everything to that person in his own modulated version. And in the middle of his talks, see the audacity of the person, he was constantly using abusive languages against my mother and my family!!!! He didn't return even a single penny and insulted us in all possible manners. We were forced to leave his place empty-handed, losing our hard-earned 6800rupees.

Now, it is my question to all my friends of BCET, being insulted by a so-called educated localite, that too on false grounds, and being denied of my own money, should I keep silent just because I am a student and he is a local person of this place???
What would you do if you were in my place??????
As one can't fight for these sort of things alone, how much support can I expect from you in this matter????

If voices are not raised against these kind of things right now, in near future, there can be many BCETians like me who will be harassed in one or the other way, by these kind of people, and will have to suffer injustice just because they are students and are not localites of this place.....
